I’m impressed with myself. I knit the Duchess of Devonshire shawl in 21 days. That’s quite quick for me. I used to feel like I’m a slow knitter but that seems to be changing. A whole shawl in less than a month is quite a feat for me. It’s beautiful too.
I’m currently wearing it at work and it’s nice and warm. Not too heavy but dense enough to be snuggly.
Since my yarn for my sweater isn’t supposed to be here until tomorrow and I finished the shawl on the 20th, I pulled out the bias advent wrap to tide me over. This one is going to take me longer than 21 days (already has).
With my sweater yarn expected tomorrow, I’ll probably be starting it this week when it arrives. I’m both excited and nervous. The first sweater turned into a slog by the end. Hopefully I can hold on to my motivation for this one and it doesn’t end up feeling the same. Plus I want to push through it quickly so I can wear it while it’s still cold. We’ll see how long it takes me.
Congratulations, it’s lovely!
Thank you!
Beautiful finish! I love the shaping and it looks like the perfect extra layer for warmth right now. Hope your new project’s yarn arrives soon!
Your Duchess shawl is really pretty. Glad you will be able to wear it a lot. Guess I can be thankful that I knit a lot of tees. Eliminates the boredom of sleeve island.
So far I haven’t made any sleeves. My sweater was open sides rather than sleeves. I’ll have to investigate a tee
