This week is SHORT. Off for Memorial Day on Monday and then Friday we’re away to Tokyo. I’m doing my best to prep my team at work for me being out for a full week (and a day). They’re a great team and they’ll do fine but I want to make it as easy on them as possible. I did take some time at lunch to work on my Urdr shawl. I don’t normally knit at my desk so it felt a bit weird but I was happy to have the knitting time anyway.
This past weekend I did finish spinning my Rose Water yarn. I’ll have a full review on it written shortly but most notably, I’ve already started a new project with it. I’ve neglected to take pictures of it but I’ve started the Traveler Cowl by Andrea Mowry. I had originally planned to use my handspun Blueberry Liqueur for this project but my new yarn is just so pretty that I couldn’t resist it. I feel a bit bad for neglecting my Theodore Wrap but it’s just a bit big for carrying all the way to Japan. So new cowl it is.
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to write a blog post from Japan next week, but I’m excited to share what we find on our travels. We have at least one yarn store planned. Happy knitting!

I appreciate that many knitters prefer working from printed patterns. I’m not being judgy, just making sure you’ve considered knit companion if you use a tablet. The ipad version is by far the best but I am pretty happy with the Kindle version as well. I do admit my next “laptop” will be an ipad and I will switch to the ipad version of knit companion. Wow, Japan!! I’ve never been there although I had a business trip to Taiwan MANY years ago. Have a wonderful trip.
I do use knit companion sometimes! My phone battery just dies so quickly these days that it makes more sense to have an analog version of the pattern. And I donβt think itβs judgy for you to make sure another knitter knows of an available tool π
