Camping with the family

This past weekend we went camping with my whole family for the first time in years and years. It was a really peaceful and lovely time.

I love my family. They’re all so fun and smart. I’m truly proud of all of them and brag about them when I get the chance to do so. I hope they do the same for me. I’m happy to be part of such a family.

I did do some knitting on a new project while we were out camping. I’ve started what I hope will be a competition piece for either the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair in October or for the next Carolina Fiber Festival in March of ’27. Depends on how long it takes me to knit. I’m knitting Urdr by Anna Dalvi and it is quite a big shawl. The pattern says it should end up being 5’11” in the end. That’s a foot taller than I am! So far it’s just a small purple blob. But that’s how lace always starts out.

It’s been a pleasure to knit so far. The pattern doesn’t have a whole lot of details but it’s going smoothly with the charts. I’m knitting this out of Haven from Duren DyeWorks. It’s light and silky. Has a wonderful softness and shine to it. It’s going to be a gorgeous work of art.
