Work demands

I haven’t had much time for knitting this past week. End of year demands at work have taken over my life and all my energy. I get home and I’m totally wiped. Right now my evenings consist of dinner and then bed. Sometimes I’ll get lucky and have time to watch a vlog but that’s been spotty too. I’ve been enjoying Knit California, Retro Claude, the Botanical Knitter, and Knitty Natty.

What knitting that has happened has been on my stranded socks. I’ve finished the toe and I’m midway into the foot. I’m still loving the yarn and pattern. It just takes more energy to hold some needles than I have right now.

That said, even my socks are going to take a back seat for a bit. I have some sneaky Christmas knitting I’ve decided to take on. It’s a supplemental gift so if I don’t finish it’s not a big deal but I’m hoping I can get it done in time. It helps that I’ll have a knit night with friends next week and my yarn is supposed to be here today. So, if I can find the energy, I’ll start tonight and push through by Christmas. It might actually be good for me to have a reason to force something more than just crashing at night. But we’ll see if I can manage it.

If anyone was curious about the new cat, Casper, he’s settling in just fine. He’s an incredibly sweet boy. I can’t believe anyone ever let him go. I know I’m not going to. He had his first vet visit for an initial check and they marveled over what good shape he’s in for an 8 year old. And he did excellent at the vet too! Maybe not so much the car ride (“Meow! Meow! MEOOOW!”) but the vet part went fine. Here’s a picture of him cuddled up next to me for the very first time. He looks comfortable and that makes me so happy.
