Hand dyed yarn arrival

The yarn from McMullin Fiber Co arrived! I had asked for a mini that she didn’t have dyed so she sent me several alternatives to choose from. We had discussed the project and she seemed to understand what I was going for but she gave me options anyway.

Choices!

The yarn is STUNNING. The suri/silk is so squishy and soft and the mini’s are such beautiful colors. I won’t use them all in the current project but I have ideas for them anyway.

I did push through finishing my socks before starting with the new yarn. They’re simple and satisfying. They are a tiny bit long but not so much to be problematic.

I have already started the new project. It’s the Wispy Shawl by Joji Locatelli. I saw it at the Carolina Fiber Fest and fell in love. The yarn is perfect for it and I’m loving the colors. I’ve been working through it quickly but did make a mistake last night (purled rather than knit one of the gold rows) so I’ll have to go back and fix that. It’s difficult to tink the suri/silk but it’s worth it to make the project perfect.

Sonoma is now a knitwear model.

  1. That is beautiful yarn. Thanks for the reminder. I believe she lives in the Cincinnati area so near me. Totally relate to tinking back to fix knitting when I was supposed to purl or purl when I was supposed to knit. Did that multiple times on the baby blanket I just finished.
