Normally I’m not a fan of knitting the same thing more than once. There are some exceptions for small items which offer some variation (think socks), but for the most part I want to knit something new every time. However, I’ve cast on a project I’ve knit before and I’m loving it. I’m working on the Purl Pouch by Tori Yu. I made the Purl Pouch as a dice bag for DnD. This is the first one I made:

It’s a great little bag but somehow ended up with a hole. I blame my mini fig for Perlin, my Firblog Druid. She has a teeny tiny little staff that I think poked the hole. Regardless, I was looking for inspiration last week and went to the yarn store searching for some. My regular yarn store, Warm ‘n Fuzzy, was closed for a summer break so I went by Great Yarns on the way home and found a beautiful skein of yarn. I picked up Manos del Uruguay Marla in the colorway Twilight.

It’s such a lovely skein of yarn that I got home and cast on pretty much immediately. This project is a bit magic. You make a little flap in a contrasting color that goes over the i-cord drawstrings. There’s a bit of a “is this right?” moment as you’re working on it when there’s just string and i-cord everywhere.

It does come together in the end though. Which is a good lesson to remember. Sometimes you have to just keep going along and wait to see how it all comes together. Because you will find that inspiration and it will come together.
