Small departure

I did end up knitting the Edinburgh Seamless Dog Sweater by CalicoRadio Knits for my sister-in-law’s dog Charlie. At least I tried to. He’s a tiny dog so I knit the smallest size (XXS) and I don’t know what I expected but it really is extra, extra small (banana for scale).

It’s clearly not going to work for him so I’ve started again. I had some trouble with the leg holes so I did a quick crochet border around the rough edges but I’m not satisfied with my tension on the crochet so I won’t be doing that again on the next one. I like the contrast of the cream but I need to find a better way to go about tightening up the edges.

I have been knitting on both my (now late) Socktober Socks and the Hot Chocolate Wrap but don’t have significant enough progress for pictures.

In cat news, Mo had an exciting week last week. He did get neutered on Monday but then, once my husband got him home, he busted out of his carrier and escaped outdoors. We were deeply concerned and heartsick. We ended up seeing him the first time on Wednesday morning but he quickly disappeared again. Thursday he came for brunch and I was able to get close enough to scoop him up and bring him back inside. Sadly, there had clearly been some complications with the neuter so we went back to the vet on Friday. Poor guy is having a tough time with going back and forth to the vet. He has his (hopefully) final appointment tomorrow to address the neuter complications. At least we have him safe and home again.
