Nearing completion

I held off on writing here this week because I was going to have knit night with some friends on Wednesday and I had hoped to finish my Jelly Roll blanket then. But the host’s AC went out and we had to reschedule so I didn’t get to work on the blanket as much as I had planned. Never fear! I have a hangout with another crafty friend tonight to celebrate her getting a new job and I’ll get to work on my blanket then.

I’ve officially reached the i-cord border and it’s looking amazing! I’d been debating if I wanted to do a standard i-cord or some kind of double knit border but my friends convinced me that 1) the wider double knit border might detract from the stripes, and 2) an i-cord is less knitting anyway. They were right (they usually are) and I’m so pleased with my i-cord. Look at how clean and tidy it makes the blanket look!

I’ve finished about half of it so far and I’m hoping tonight I’ll get through the rest. I didn’t end up doing a provisional cast on for my start so I’ll have to decide how I’m going to finish it off but I’ll get to that when I get there. I’m extremely pleased with how this blanket is turning out and can’t wait to use it to cuddle up on the couch and see how warm it is. Hopefully I can have a completed blanket photoshoot soon!
