Complete success

I have finished the Shieldmaiden Lace Shawl by Anna Victoria! I’m incredibly impressed with myself and how quickly it knit up. I started on Feb 8th and ended on Feb 28th. A 20 day lace shawl is pretty quick! I think I was just motivated to finish it in time for the Carolina Fiber Fest (which I have) and enjoying the process. It came out beautifully.

I will admit that now that I’ve finished the shawl, I’m feeling a little uncertain on what to start next. Yesterday I sat down with the Hedgehog Fibres Alpaca Boucle in Seahorse that my sister-in-law got me on their last trip and tried starting multiple projects. First I tried the Hasukai Cowl by Hiroko Fukatsu but wasn’t enjoying the provisional cast on. Then I tried the Sadie Top by Woozy By Céline but I didn’t have the right size needles. Finally I pulled out SweetGeorgia Yarns CashLuxe Spark and tried holding them together in a Musselburgh Hat by Ysolda Teague. I quickly realized that I didn’t want to use my precious Hedgehog Fibres that way and frogged it. I’ve started a new Musselburgh with just the CashLuxe Spark and I’m hoping that will stick.

I’m also still slowly working on my Jelly Roll Blanket. It’s become big enough that it’s hard to manage so it’s now a couch project. I don’t have any new pictures of that one but there also hasn’t been enough new progress to warrant new pictures. I have knit night tomorrow with my friends so hopefully I’ll get a good amount of knitting done on something picture worthy.

  1. Not sure why my whole comment didn’t post! Beautiful shawl! I haven’t been very motivated in my knitting lately. I hope you new project sticks! LOL!
