Restarting

Progress was slow but steady on my Side by Side sweater. I had some time off from work for my husband’s birthday this week but ended up getting sucked into video games rather than knitting (Stardew Valley released an update for mobile devices). I got through the right front section. Then I held it up to myself and realized it was going to be way too big. I know I didn’t have all that much done but it was disheartening that I was going to have start entirely from scratch. I was ignoring it and even started on the next section in denial but then I took birthday cake over to my parents house and told my mom it was going to be too big. She immediately pushed me to restart. She was right of course. I wouldn’t have been satisfied with it being too big and there was no need to continue with it as it was. So I went home and ripped everything out. I got the picture below before frogging.

So I printed out the directions for two sizes smaller and started. I’m about three rows in so it’s nothing to look at yet but I’m glad I got the feedback and push I needed to make something I’m going to be happy with. Now I’m just hoping it won’t be too small.

  1. I’m glad you started over! Better to be happy with it after all that work! Can’t wait to see it finished! I am not brave enough to work on a sweater yet. πŸ˜€
