Tweedy

I’m loving Hedgehog Fibres Tweedy. It’s so fun! I’ll be knitting along and a little pop of color will suddenly appear. I feel like with a lot of tweeds it’s a single muted color. This isn’t that. This is neon on white or black. It’s been a delight to work with. It’s not the softest yarn but I don’t mind that. I kind of like a bit of crunch. My first real project (besides the first practice “potholder”) was 100% wool that my parents brought me from a trip to Canada. It was rough and crunchy. Since then I’ve had a soft spot for stiff yarns. I still have that scarf and wear it on occasion.

I worked on my Adventurer Cowl on worldwide knit in public day at my wedding reception. We went to a local bar-cade. It went wonderfully! It was a bit loud but it’s a bar with tons of arcade games so that was expected.

I haven’t made much progress since Saturday. I got back into the next black section. I’m kind of winging it. The pattern calls for a multitude of colors and I only have the two. So I’m just switching back and forth whenever I feel like it. Some of them will be small and others will be chunks of black or white. We’ll see how often I switch. So far it’s been an enjoyable knit.

  1. This seems like an excellent way to celebrate at your reception! I also like wools with a bit of crunchiness – not for everything – but they are a delight to work with for the right project.

  2. I woman after my own heart. It doesn’t get much better than sipping on a craft beer while knitting. Sadly my local craft beer/knitting group folded during the pandemic and efforts to revive it didn’t work.
