Yarn in progress

I’ve been enjoying my new e-spinner immensely. I haven’t finished any more yarn but I’m working on some really fun tweedy fiber from Walnut Farm Designs called Taste the Rainbow.

I have 8oz of Taste the Rainbow so I’m hoping for a more substantial skein when I’m done spinning but I still have quite a long way to go.

I did end up getting some new fiber from AJemFiberArts so that I’d have more than just white to spin up. It arrived yesterday and I’m delighted with it. The blue/grey is called IYKYK and the gradient is Midnight Moonshine.

I was chatting with a friend the other day and we came up with the idea that I should do handspun yarn reviews after I finish making new yarns. I love this idea and will make it as a new series for blog posts. I’ll still share pictures and such in my normal blog posts but there will be an additional one just for handspun yarn. I haven’t actually washed the two yarns I just finished so I’m thinking once I do that I’ll write my first reviews.

As for knitting, I’m still working on the Sophie Hood. It feels never ending at this point. I’ve reached the decreases but still have quite a while until it really starts to feel like it’s moving faster. It’s a travel project and joins me at work everyday but it’s a bit unwieldy at this point so it doesn’t get pulled out as much as I’d like. I’ll keep knitting away on it and hopefully have a finished hood soon. Just in time for NC to start to get it’s first truly hot weather.

  1. Haha – yeah me too. What was supposed to be a cardigan for winter might just end up a cardigan for next winter!! Love the rainbow bits yarn. I thought that would be hard to spin. So far I have managed to resist the spinning and weaving bugs as I really don’t want more craft stash. I enjoy living vicariously through others crafting.
