Button bungle

The Wildflower Tunic is officially fully complete. Last week I did the crocheted button band and added the buttons. However, there was an issue with the buttons. I went by my local yarn store and picked out some simple white buttons with little swirls on them. When I got back to my desk at work after picking them up I looked again and realized the swirls were tiny cars. Parking at the local yarn store (Warm ‘n Fuzzy) is terrible so I was not going to go back. Nobody looks that closely at children’s clothes anyway.

We’re just gonna roll with it (get it?)

I did start on my next project, Snooker the Balloon Dog by Jamie McCanless, but I didn’t make much progress before my mom made an emergency knitting request.

Looks very strange

I knit my mom a hat last year (almost exactly a year going off my Ravelry dates of March 12th-17th) and she wore it religiously. In packing for a trip for Scotland she realized that it’s been lost. I know it was hard for her to come to me and admit she’d lost something I’d made for her but these things happen. I have more of the same yarn (Paulette from Maille Name Is) and it’s a bulky weight so it will knit up fast. I don’t have pictures yet but after starting yesterday I’m already through the body of the hat and to the decreases. It’s impressive how quickly bulky yarn knits up. I’m confident that I will finish before she leaves Friday morning.
