The Wildflower Tunic by Jessica McDonald has gone so smoothly. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I knit mine out of Loops & Threads Luxe Merino Solid in purple as a reasonably baby friendly yarn. I started on Feb. 19th and am mostly finished at this point. I need to stop by my local yarn store for buttons (I’m planning on doing that over my lunch break today) and I’ll have to crochet the button loops but that’s all I have left to do. We spent time with my husband’s family on Sunday and I got a ton of work done while we visited. I’m lucky to have a second family that I enjoy spending time with.
I do have two more pregnant friends at work (both having girls too) so I have more baby knits planned but they’re not due until July so there’s no pressure to work on anything right now. Without that pressure, I found something else I want to re-knit. I’ve made Snooker the Balloon Dog by Jamie McCanless once before but I was never satisfied with the yarn choice. In my mind a balloon just has to be bright and vibrant. With that in mind, I purchased some neon yarn from YouKnitIDye on Etsy. It is delightful. This is my first time buying them YouKnitIDye but so far I’m pleased with the color and quality. It was easy to wind – no knots or tangles. I haven’t started my balloon dog yet but I’m planning on holding the sock yarn double and adding in a strand of the mohair to simulate the static a balloon can have. I’m really looking forward to working on it. Which is a great feeling. Being inspired is fun.

What a cute jumper! I’ll have to keep it in mind if my daughter’s baby turns out to be a girl.
