The Carolina Fiber Festival is this week and I’m so excited for it. I’m taking a spinning class on Thursday and then just enjoying the event on Friday. I’m hoping that it will be less crowded if I go early on Friday. Going early also means I get first dibs on the best yarn and fiber.
In none festival news, I’ve got some finished objects to share! Late last night I finished my Sophie Hood by PetiteKnit. I saw the finish line and stayed up late to get it done. It’s so luxuriously soft and cozy. It’s much bigger than I expected it to be. I knit the size medium and it still wraps several times. I’m okay with that though, it will just be extra warm when it goes back to cold weather and I can wear it.
Since I’m taking a spinning class, I also needed to clear my bobbins. I ended up chain plying the Taste the Rainbow fiber I had going. I do still have some of the fiber left over (quite a lot actually) so I’ll likely spin more of it later on, but for now, the first skein is done.
Since I’m on such a kick of finishing things off, I brought my Soft Full Moon shawl with me to work today to knit on at lunch. I would like to finish that off before casting on something new with fiber festival yarn but I’m going to be realistic and let myself start something new when I’m excited for it.
