This was my first spin on the Ashford e-Spinner. It took 6 days to spin 4oz of a bulky weight yarn. The fiber was lovely. It didn’t fight me as I drafted and didn’t have any VM or neps. Falkland is not a true breed found in the Fiber Source Book but I did find that the average micron count is 20-23 (some sources said 18-33). The yarn itself is just fine. I don’t like the red/blue barber poling but the rest is quite nice in terms of color management. I didn’t make any effort to manage colors on this one since it was a test of the new e-Spinner. I would say it has more of a bounce than a squish and is moderately rustic in texture.

This is the second spin on the Ashford e-Spinner. It took 2 days to spin through 4oz (can you tell I was excited to work on it?) It spun up to a bulky weight. The fiber was quite difficult to work with – it fought me as I was drafting and I ended up with some thick and thin spots. The orange sections feel deliberate against the green but, once again, I’m not wild about the barber poling. The yarn is quite bouncy. It was surprisingly well plied when hung up.
