End of year review

At the start of this year, I posted a New year review. So it seems only fitting that I close out this year with an End of year review. Overall, I completed 7 projects. (This doesn’t account for everything I started and frogged or put in hibernation.)

That doesn’t feel like very many considering how much I knit this year but I think overall my projects trended larger. I don’t have a great count on the yardage I used because I wasn’t as good at tracking that this year. I will say that only 2 of my projects were purple. Good for me for branching out!

I don’t think I’ll be finishing my Step by Step Cardigan this year. Likely it will be done early next year. But as long as I have some time to wear it while it’s still cold, I’m happy. I am making good progress. I’ve finished the body and I’m about halfway done with the first sleeve.

I’m torn between looking forward to the button band for it’s polishing effects but also not looking forward to it because I’ve heard it’s tedious. I’m sure by that point my desire to finish and move on to other things will be pushing me forward.

I haven’t given too much thought on what I want to knit next or accomplish next year. The only thing I would really like to challenge myself with is to un-do and re-knit the border of my Soft Full Moon Shawl. It’s beautiful, but I’ve never been satisfied with the border. I ran out of yarn at the time and went off book. It looked fine but I want to go back and make it better. I did end up acquiring more of the same yarn so I should be good to go back and adjust now.

What are your crafting goals for the year?
