It’s a shock how fast this month has gone! It’s been fun opening the advent everyday and ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the brilliant colors my friend has dyed. I’ve taken one picture with my rankings of the colors (so far) for her.
She also let me buy her stock of undyed mini’s for the project I have in mind. I’m going to crochet the Battenberg Blanket by Sandra Paul! I’m excited and slightly daunted by such a large crochet project but I’m thinking, like with the Jelly Roll blanket, the changing colors will keep me interested. I know my friend is excited to see someone else work with her hand dyed yarn as well so she’ll be a cheerleader for me. I’m waiting to start on the colors until all the advent yarn is open (one more day!) so I can get a picture of the whole collection. I did start on the white yarn and stuck them in a bag with all the yummy colors.
I don’t have any new pictures of my sweater but I’ve started on the ribbing for the bottom of the body. I made mine a little longer than the pattern called for because, while I am very short, I have an extra long torso and didn’t want such a cropped fit. I’m torn between going for the button band next or starting on the sleeves. Maybe I’ll knit one sleeve then the button band and then go for the second sleeve just to keep things interesting and varied? We’ll see. I’ve heard that button bands are tedious and don’t want to risk sleeves of different lengths. I’m looking forward to downtime with family and friends to work on everything though.
Happy Holidays to all!
