Vacation progress

Vacation was amazing. When is vacation not amazing? We took the train so I got a good amount of knitting done on the way from Raleigh, NC to Washington, DC.

This is where I started on the trip up:

This is where I ended on the way back:

When we got to DC we walked straight from the train station to a local yarn store called Fibre Space. I picked up some lovely De Rerum Natura Bérénice in the color Prune.

I was originally thinking of knitting the Sadie Top by Woozy By Céline but when I was browsing around Ravelry looking for ideas I found the Dafina Beaded Lace Shawl by Anna Victoria and fell in love. It’ll be an excellent competition piece. I’ve already cast on. It took three tries to get the right gauge but I got there eventually. It’s going to be great.

  1. Oh wow that shawl will be a real show stopper! And you made great progress on the train too. What a successful trip 😁

  2. That is an amazing amount of progress! I love the new yarn but my shaky hands won’t allow me to use such small soft yarns. Can’t wait to see the finished pieces!

  3. Your beaded shawl is going to be beautiful. So funny you took a train. I’ve been looking into train vacations. Taking one through the Rocky Mountains was just suggested to me. It’s our 40th anniversay next year so I’m looking for something special/different to do.
