Back on track

I feel sufficiently rested and am back on track on all the things. Yesterday I went to coffee/tea with a friend after work and we enjoyed our time chatting and crafting. I took all my ongoing projects and got everything going again. I pulled out the abandoned pattern in my socks for my husband so they can go forward again, finished off a color in the Jelly Roll blanket, and worked several rows on my sweater. It was a productive crafting session.

My friend is working on a cabled crochet baby blanket for her brother and it’s beautiful. I had no idea you could do cables in crochet! She’s teaching me that I’ve really underestimated the versatility of crochet.

I’ve got my husband’s socks with me for lunch knitting at work today. After much debate, I’m just going to do a broken rib like I’m doing in my sweater. I don’t want to do something else that’s going to confuse me going back and forth between projects and I’ve really liked how the broken rib looks. It’s the only project I brought with me today. I’m forcing myself a bit but I know once I get started I’ll get sucked in and enjoy. Sometimes it just takes some effort to get going on it.

  1. Wish I had learned knitting while I was still knitting. I ate lunch at my desk the last 10+ years so a bit of knitting would have been great. Love all the colors in your blanket. It is impressive what can be done with crochet. I specifically picked to learn knitting because I mistakenly thought crochet would only lead to endless blanket making.
