Temporary pause

I’m needing to take a little break from knitting because of some pain in my wrist and hand. It’s frustrating having to stop doing something I love but taking care of myself comes first. I wouldn’t want to push past it and do real damage.

Before I realized I needed to take a break I had cast on a sweater project. I didn’t get very far before realizing I needed to go up a size but I got far enough to know it’s going to be both a challenge and a joy.

It’s the Mara Cardigan by Brianna Mason. It’s a lovely texture but I didn’t account for ease properly so I’ve had to rip it out and have yet to start back up on it. I’m daunted by the idea of trying to knit another sweater but I’m going to look past my anxieties and do it anyway. Mostly I just don’t want to reach a point where the project becomes a slog rather than a pleasure but there’s an aspect of that for any big project, right? Hopefully I’ll get back on track for an update next week.

  1. Love the yarn. It’s going to make a great sweater. Hope your wrist and hand start to feel better. Definitely right to take a break. I keep forgetting to do those hand and wrist stretches that Carson DeMars recommends.
