Snow day (but I still have to work)

It’s snowing in North Carolina today! As of right now it’s not sticking to the sidewalk/road but it’s been snowing since about 9:30am and the forecast has it going for a while longer. My husband and I are both working from home and the cats are in heaven (except for when my husband closed the door for a customer call, then Casper sat outside his door and cried.) The feral cats outside are sort of using the cat condo we got them.

The Shieldmaiden shawl is coming on well. The rows are getting long. Especially the purl rows. But I’m still enjoying the process and finally think I have enough beads to finish. I did have to go out and get a needle threader because my crochet hook was too large for some of the seed beads but that’s tolerable.

It’s started to get hard to show off. It’s big enough now that I can’t stretch the whole thing out on the needles. I’ve finished the first border section and started on the second and it’s just lovely. The yarn is nice, the beads add a wonderful sparkle, and the pattern is satisfying. This has been a good project so far. Hard to believe I’m less than two weeks in.
