I haven’t abandoned the Jelly Roll blanket but I have cast on something new. The blanket is a simple project and I needed something more to keep my brain working and to give myself a goal. So I cast on the Shieldmaiden Lace Shawl by Anna Victoria. It’s been a long time since I knit lace of this caliber and I’m finding that I’m a bit rusty. There has already been some tinking involved in the process and I’m using tons of stitch markers to keep myself on track but it’s already a stunner.

I’m doing an extra body repeat because it felt a bit small when I first finished the body but it’s moving quickly even with that modification.

It’s still a long way off but, depending on how this project goes, I’d like to have an entry to the NC state fair or the next Carolina Fiber Festival. I’ve entered and won before but it’s been quite some time and I’m overdue for a really challenging project. Hopefully I can keep the brain power going for working on it.
