Long delay

I promise I haven’t forgotten about blogging. It just seems like work has exploded and I’ve been too tired and busy to do anything for pleasure. Hopefully it won’t be that way for much longer.

In knitting news, I finished the Beeswax Cowl by Amy van de Laar. It’s beautiful and I love it. I sent out a picture of it to my family’s group chat (as I do with all finished projects) and my new sister in law admired it. So I immediately gave it to her. They live out in Ohio so she’ll get more use out of it than I would in a North Carolina winter. I’m hoping that I’ll draw her in our family gift exchange so I can make her a matching set with the mittens or hat. I run the exchange so I could easily rig it but I’m not going to do that. Something about ethics and morals.

I’ve since moved on to knitting with that cashmere I bought for my 20 year knitting anniversary. I’m making French Cancan by Mademoiselle C. I’ve knit this once before and loved it but, oddly enough, I ended up passing it along to my other sister in law. I’m almost through the body already. I have three skeins and want to use as much of them as possible so I’m keeping careful track of my weights. I’m a bit bored with the simple body and looking forward to the cable and eyelets of the border.

I also have some new stitch markers to share. I picked these up from thesexyknitter on Etsy. Aren’t they adorable?! Very cute Halloween. It had an orange one as well but I’ve already pulled it out to be used.

I think once I start the cable I’ll be able to use one on my French Cancan too. I do always like keeping track of my progress.

  1. Fun stitch markers!! Wow, that purple yarn looks amazing!! What a beautiful autumn cowl for your SIL. Definitely cold here in Ohio. I wore a cowl yesterday and a nice thick shawl today. Next week the highs are only in the 50s!!!
