Earlier in the year I was so excited that this was my 20th year knitting. Somehow in everything that was happening I ended up forgetting to celebrate on time. I started knitting in middle school so it has been more than 20 years technically but I really caught the bug when I was in high school. We used to have “flex” days where we’d do community service and I joined the group knitting for hospitals. We all knit seed stitch scarves and the teacher sewed them together to cover the preemie incubator (which makes them sound like chicken eggs). I had hoped to do something special for myself in August but it just didn’t happen.
I’m still thinking of buying myself some really fancy yarn from the swoonfibers cashmere collection. The pattern I have in mind is the Distance Scarf DK by Olga Putano Designs. I’m still debating so I haven’t done it yet but they have a really lovely heathered purple that is tempting me. (Edit: I went ahead and got it. Too tempting to only write about!)
The Beeswax Cowl is going smoothly. I haven’t taken may pictures of it but did snap this one while watching the presidential debate.
The pattern is easy to memorize and work. It does take attention but not so much that I’m struggling through it. It’s a pleasant project. I’m definitely going to have enough yarn left over for either the mittens or hat. I’m not sure which one I’m going to make (probably the mittens?) but right now I’m just enjoying the process.

Congrats on 20 years. I didn’t start until I retired so I’ve only been knitting for 8 years.
