Triangle yarn crawl and future knitting plans

The yarn crawl was fun! We started at my favorite local yarn store, Warm ‘n Fuzzy, that I’ve mentioned before. The owner is very kind and they recognize me at this point. We also got to visit Knotty Sheep, Oak City Fibers, Hillsborough Yarn Shop, Yarns Etc, Freemans Creative, and Great Yarns. All the yarn stores are special and wonderful in their own ways but the new discovery was Oak City Fibers. The owner, Glen, is friends with some of my friends and was very personable. I went in with a plan to find yarn for Travel Mode 2.0 by Susanne Sommer and did just that. The colorful yarn is from Oak City Fibers and the grey is from Freemans Creative. I also picked up some double points that I found were missing from my collection from Warm ‘n Fuzzy and was given a pin also from Oak City Fibers.

I have started the Travel Mode 2.0 but it doesn’t look like much yet so I’m holding off on pictures. Knit night is tomorrow so I’m sure I’ll make good progress then. I have finished a super quick baby knit. Another of my work friends is having a girl and I wanted to make a tiny sweater. It came out a bit bigger than a newborn size but babies grow quickly and it’ll mean that it’s more likely to be able to be used when it’s cold. The pattern is Entrechat by Lisa Chemery and was straightforward to read and understand. Well written and simple to follow.

  1. Ironically I’m counting on the baby sweater I’m knitting to be a little big. Seems almost everything I knit ends up bigger than I planned. So I’m knitting the newborn size in the hopes it can be worn closer to 3 mons. Your baby sweater turned out great.

  2. That yarn is beautiful! I have made baby sweaters in years, this is a cute pattern and wish it went up a bit larger for a friend’s daughter who just turned 7. She would like it.
