Reclaiming

I’ve officially frogged The Midtown Cardigan by Stephanie Jessica Lau. I put it down and just couldn’t find the motivation to pick it back up. I picked the wrong size and, while it is supposed to be a bit lose, it’s just too big. It was time to admit that it wasn’t working but I wasn’t ready to admit that my dreams of a 2023 sweater were completely over. So I cast on the Veronika Cardigan by Shannon Cook. I’ve gotten through the first arm section but I’m already starting to get tired of it.

Knitting while at DnD

Next August it will be 10 years since I started knitting (haven’t decided how to celebrate yet) and I still haven’t made a sweater. I’m not sure what my block is. I’ve started several and just never finish. I knit large projects on occasion (see my Hue Shift Afghan) and know I’m capable of it so I’m not sure what the block is.

I have knit night tonight so I’m hoping to get a lot done and let the momentum carry me through.

  1. I like a bottom up design where you make the sleeves first then join them on to the body – stops me from getting stalled on sleeve island! I think it just needs to be the right pattern and good for you for making the choice to start over.
