I’ve been in a knitting slump recently. I made a mistake in one of the cables of the Dilution Cowl and I just haven’t gone back to fix it yet.
A work friend gave me some yarn and asked for another hat. I’m not opposed to the idea but I don’t want to get stuck doing commission after commission. This is my hobby and I don’t want to spend it doing things I don’t want to. Plus there’s more yarn than a single hat’s worth.
I don’t have any pictures yet but I did start working on the first sleeve of my sweater. I’m all of about 10 rows in so far but at least I’ve gotten it started. I’m going on my honeymoon soon and I’m not sure which project is going to come with me yet. Probably the sweater and something more complicated. I’m tempted to pull my Leaves of Grass by Jared Flood out of hibernation. It’s beautiful and I want to finish it but it’s complicated enough that I haven’t had the brain power to work on it recently.

Sometimes it’s hard to find your mojo when you know a repair is waiting for you.
Hope yours returns soon (and that you have a wonderful honeymoon!)
Thanks! Honestly I think I’m going to frog it and try something else
And that’s why I knit “gifts” on my schedule. I will ask folks if they like a certain pattern but actually getting the item is anyone’s guess. I don’t knit for birthday’s or Christmas. But true, I did have a friend once ask if I could mimic a hat that a cousin from Germany had knit and I did do that. She was happy with the result but glad don’t have to try that again.
It’s cool you were able to mimic the hat.
