Another full stop

I gave in to needing assistance and stopped by a different local yarn store (Freeman’s Creative) for their Work in Progress class. The instructor, Amie, helped me with my brioche and got me going. She was wonderful and fun to talk to. It’s always nice to talk knitting with someone experienced. That said, I’m stopping on the brioche cowl. I’m glad I got it figured out but I realized I started with the wrong color and have to restart again. This is my 5th restart of this one project and I just don’t have it in me anymore.

Yanked off the needles

I ordered some yarn from Warm ‘n Fuzzy for my next project. Unfortunately, I had to have it mailed to me. I took my Prius to the Leith Toyota dealership for a regular maintenance and they damaged it. At first it looked superficial but yesterday they called to tell me it wouldn’t start and they would need to keep it for longer (not that they had an estimate on how long they’d need to keep it in the first place). I’m so frustrated and upset. I’ve taken good care of my car and to have someone else damage it is dishearten. Getting them to give me updates is like pulling teeth.

The other car looks worse.

The yarn I ordered from Warm ‘n Fuzzy is going towards a Dilution Cowl by Amanda Stephens. I’m a cowl kind of mood. I do have to consider that I’m going to need a travel project since my honeymoon is coming up. So I don’t want anything too big and unwieldy.

I won’t need all four skeins. I’m thinking of making a matching hat.

I made some small progress on my sweater. I finished the second of the front panels. Now it’s just the sleeves and sewing together left. Can’t discount the sewing. That’s probably going to be the hardest part for me. I’m not good at sewing.

Ash immediately claimed it.

  1. Sorry about your car, that’s awful. I hope they get it fixed in a timely manner for you.
The Dilution Cowl looks so pretty and very cosy. I may have to add this to my library…as if I needed anything else in there 😂. The yarn you’ve chosen for yours is a beautiful colour.

  2. So sorry about your car. Looks like they dropped it so who knows what they did to the frame. Sadly, I see a lawyer in your future. Brioche is on my project list but first I have to master fixing mistakes. I have the Patty Lyons video class but in person works much better for me. I may have to sign up for a personal lesson at my LYS.

    • In person definitely makes a big difference. I did have a lot of trouble tinking a mistake in brioche. I had to have the instructor fix it.
