We had cold rainy weather most of the weekend. That’s my favorite. The weather here in NC has been so variable I am worried about getting sick but the cold and rain has been nice. It almost feels like fall. I sat outside in the garage with my knitting on Friday when I had the day off. I didn’t knit for long. It was cold enough that my hands were stiff.
On Saturday we saw the new Super Mario Brother’s movie. It was terrible. Do not recommend. The fiancé enjoyed it more than I did but he picked up on more of the references to video game history. After that we went to a new retro bar that just opened near us called Rewind. This was the hit of the weekend. The cocktails were interesting (although I’m not much of a drinker) and there were options lots of different kinds of games. They had tons of video games but also some board games to choose from. We sat at a table with Super Mario Bro’s 3 on the original Nintendo. I was torn between knitting and playing. Knitting mostly won.
Rewind has a cocktails and crafting night but it’s on Wednesday and I’d have to go straight from work so I don’t think I’m likely to join. Plus I’m shy enough that I’d struggle going by myself. Next time I work from home on a Wednesday I’ll probably accept some discomfort and go anyway. Hopefully I’ll have made more progress on my socks by that point. Right now they’re crawling. I am loving the pattern though.

I love cold and rainy weather too – something about it feels so cozy. (Although we don’t get rainy weather very often here.) Your socks are coming along nicely!
It does feel cozy! Definitely good knitting weather. It’s hard to knit in the heat and humidity during the summer.
What an interesting pattern. Are those socks? I do love rainy days for knitting.
