Project disappointments

So after a couple false starts with knitting, I realized why people crochet the temperature scarf. The problem with that is that, even though I can crochet, I’m not very good at it. To be perfectly honest, I also don’t care for the way crochet looks or drapes. Crochet is dense and stiff. That might be my inexperience with it but I’m just not wild about the craft as a whole.

Ignore my badly woven in ends and misshapen edges. That’s due to my inexperience with crochet.

My best friend suggested that I try out double crochet as an alternative to the single I was doing but I’m tempted to go back to trying to knit it. It’ll stink to have to do all the work over again (shouldn’t have thrown away my previous piece) but if that’s what it takes to make me feel alright about it, so be it.

I am still working on the sweater. It’s going very slowly (as I expected). I’m not giving up on it but I have started doing some small side projects.

I also want to knit the Sophie Scarf by PetiteKnit. I have some light grey cashmere yarn from swoonfibers that I think would be perfect for it. Hopefully I can get two scarves from it and gift one to someone (maybe my sister in law). We also have to hope that it doesn’t distract me too much from my sweater. I’m sure it will get done eventually but lets aim to finish before the end of the year.
