Before I begin this entry I need to make an adjustment to a code name. Newbie-Knitter is now to be known as Power-Knitter because of the way he decimates miles and miles upon of yarn in his quest to blanket the world in, well, blankets! I honestly don’t know how he does it! It makes me nervous for this next announcement.
Power-Knitter and I are doing a knit along! A very challenging knit along for both of us. Me for simple stamina (yeah I stink at that) and him for his first (serious) lacework.
He showed me the pattern late one night and I had a moment of sleep deprived insanity in which I purchased the pattern, mostly decided on yarn, and roped him into doing it with me. The pattern? Girasole by Jared Flood.

It’s a beautiful lace blanket that makes me crave for sunshine and warmth. What color did I pick for this sunny blanket? Gray. I looked very hard for some yellow yarn that I was willing to commit to. Cascade 220 in Marigold brought me very close. I stood in my LYS just holding the yarn. It was the right weight, the right amount, the right price, but I just couldn’t commit to such a departure from my usual colors.
Don’t think that I’ve forgotten my on going shawl! Knowing this new project was coming I worked long and hard.
I worked waiting for a table for brunch.
I worked while at work. Look at that tiny ball of yarn!
I worked bundled up on the couch over the weekend.
I’m pleased to say that…I’m to the border. Oh well. I’m a good knitter but I’m certainly not fast. Power-Knitter can keep that title. It was time some non-monogamous knitting anyway!
