Honeymoon Post 2 – Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC

Seattle, WA:

We flew from Washington DC to Seattle (got stuck for 2 hours in Atlanta, GA) to stay for just one night at Hotel Max before continuing on. That’s all I have to share about that stop for now. Don’t worry, we’ll be back in the Rainy City next week!

This stop is something Hubby and I have both been on pins and needles over. We’ve been debating a move for a few years now and Washington state has been a front runner for the majority of the discussion. Other options were Oregon, Maine, and Montana (honorable mention: Idaho, California, and Alaska). I’ll share my thoughts after we can find a yarn store that isn’t closed!

On our drive to the Canadian border we did find a yarn store called Apple Yarns. They have a sign on the interstate! As in Food: YUM!, Gas: Beep Beep!, Attractions: Apple Yarns. Awesome! I shouted with excitement and made Hubby stop. This store was AMAZING! It’s not that it has a large selection or unusual items but the staff was so wonderful we added the city to our “perhaps move to?” list.

I picked up a locally made ball bag, a gift of yarn for the Crocheter, and carbon double pointed needles (size 4 – for the Evenstar Shawl border). Andrea (the owner) gifted me a needle and crochet hook multi-tool upon the discovery that it was my honeymoon.

Apple Yarns

We will most likely stop by on our way back through Bellingham to explore the town and spend more money (support a business we like) at Apple Yarns.

Vancouver, BC:

This was another one night stop but when we return it will be a drive through/lunch stop.

We arrived in Canada on Canada Day and everything was either closed or packed full. Sweet Georgia Yarns was closed (heartbreak!) but we will be stopping by on Monday of next week on our way back to Seattle. You’ll get more yarn filled pictures then! (This is the ‘spend all the yarn money!’ stop.)
