Just to give a quick reminder as to what I’m starting with:

I’m focusing on one dog at a time.
The fur is very soft and fairly clean. As you can see there are some little bits of leaves but there’s not much to pick out. I was worried this would smell strongly of dog (especially if it had to be washed first) but it wasn’t noticeable until I carded it, and even then the smell went away once I stopped handling it. If the final product is something worn it might smell doggy for a while until it’s been washed a number of times.
There was a small clump of fur that seemed to come from somewhere more high wear and was much scratchier than the rest. I tossed that bit so it wouldn’t be soft, soft, soft, scratchy, soft.
This is the yarn after carding.
Hooray for carding! On to the fun part!
