At work I have two big bosses and, amazingly, I like them both. As far as I’m aware neither of them know about this blog yet so there’s no sucking-up involved here.
One of my bosses has two fluffy fur babies. She has two big dogs that I’ve hear a lot about but have not (yet?) met. So why is this relevant for a knitting/spinning blog? Let me give you a hint.
Yes. That is what you think it is.
Before I go on, let me talk about the emotional reaction some of you just had. Is this a little weird? Yes. My boss is the first to admit that this is somewhat eccentric. Is that okay? Absolutely! She loves her dogs. She also loves to crochet. This is another way for her to incorporate her love for her dogs into other aspects of her world. There’s nothing wrong with doing what makes you happy, and if me spinning dog fur into yarn can provide her with a little more happiness in her life I’m okay with the weirdness factor.
Secondly, this is an adventure in fiber terms. This is a chance for me to learn more about a craft I’m still new to.
That’s all I’m going to say about the dog fur for now. I’ve given her a sample of pure dog fur and dog fur mixed with other fibers. Once she’s made a decision on which she prefers there will be more photos and stories.
Poppy is being an inquisitive kitten in regards to this strange fluff. The first day I brought it home she was not pleased with the smell but she seems to have warmed up to it. This bodes well for Hubby’s hopes of a dog in the future.
